Nairobi, Kenya — January 2025

In a bold move to foster economic empowerment and financial independence among women and youth in Kenya, Prince Allen Ellison, Chairman of the Ellison Outreach Foundation, has sponsored the first 200 women and young entrepreneurs through the G-Inue Program, a life-changing initiative in partnership with the Betty Adera Foundation. This sponsorship provides essential training, mentorship, and startup capital to help these individuals launch and sustain their own businesses in Nairobi County.

The G-Inue Program, meaning “lifting up” in Swahili, is a 12-month initiative focused on empowering women, girls, young mothers, and youth — including those with disabilities — by equipping them with vital business skills. The program is particularly targeted at Kangemi and Dagoreti Divisions of Nairobi County, two areas where economic opportunities for women and marginalized groups remain scarce.

Creating Pathways to Economic Freedom

Through this sponsorship, the first 200 recipients have already begun intensive training sessions covering business development, financial management, marketing, governance, and leadership skills. In addition to receiving entrepreneurial mentorship, they are being connected to microfinance opportunities and market access to ensure their businesses thrive.

Prince Allen Ellison, a global philanthropist and entrepreneur, expressed his enthusiasm for this initiative, stating:

“Empowering women and youth through economic opportunities is one of the most effective ways to drive sustainable development. This sponsorship is just the beginning of our commitment to creating a world where financial independence is accessible to all. By investing in these women, we are not just supporting businesses; we are uplifting entire communities.”

Impacting Generations Through Sustainable Growth

The Ellison Outreach Foundation has long been dedicated to alleviating poverty and fostering economic resilience in underserved communities worldwide. By partnering with the Betty Adera Foundation, this initiative is addressing gender inequality, financial hardship, and the risk of gender-based violence (GBV) — all of which disproportionately affect women in Nairobi’s grassroots communities.

Betty Adera, Founder of the Betty Adera Foundation, emphasized the significance of the sponsorship:

“The support from Prince Allen Ellison and the Ellison Outreach Foundation has been a game-changer. These 200 women now have the tools, training, and financial backing to turn their dreams into reality. This is more than business sponsorship; it is a movement to break the cycle of poverty and create generational change.”

A Vision for the Future

This sponsorship is just the first phase of a broader initiative aimed at supporting over 2,000 women and young entrepreneurs in the coming year. By enabling financial independence through entrepreneurship, Prince Allen Ellison and the Ellison Outreach Foundation are leading the charge toward long-term economic transformation in Kenya and beyond.

As these 200 women embark on their entrepreneurial journeys, their success stories will serve as a testament to the power of strategic philanthropy, community-driven initiatives, and the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to build a prosperous future.
