Ellison Outreach Foundation Partners with Betty Adera Foundation to Empower Women and Youth in Kenya
September 16, 2024 — Nairobi, Kenya
The Ellison Outreach Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce a strategic partnership with the Betty Adera Foundation to support the G-Inue Program, which aims to economically uplift women, girls, young mothers, and youth, including those with disabilities, in the grassroots communities of Nairobi County, Kenya. This 12-month initiative seeks to provide essential business skills, mentorship, and startup support to over 2,000 participants, fostering financial independence and reducing the risk of gender-based violence (GBV).
The G-Inue Program (meaning “lifting up” in Swahili) will focus on the Kangemi and Dagoreti Divisions of Nairobi County, addressing the unique challenges faced by women and youth in these underserved areas. The program will implement a phased approach, including community mobilization, tailored training, and start-up support for business ventures, all aimed at enhancing economic empowerment and building sustainable livelihoods.
“Empowering women and youth is key to sustainable development and community resilience. The G-Inue Program aligns perfectly with our mission to uplift underserved populations by providing them with the resources and knowledge needed to create lasting positive change. We are honored to support this transformative initiative,” said Prince Allen Ellison, Chairman of the Ellison Outreach Foundation.
“We are deeply grateful to the Ellison Outreach Foundation for their generous support of the G-Inue Program. This partnership will make a profound impact on the lives of women, girls, and youth in Nairobi County, providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to achieve financial independence and break free from the cycle of poverty and violence. Together, we are not just changing lives — we are empowering entire communities,” said Betty Adera, Founder of the Betty Adera Foundation.
The G-Inue Program will focus on key areas such as business skills development, financial management, marketing, governance, leadership skills, and mentorship, ensuring that participants are equipped to succeed. By providing access to financing services, market opportunities, and entrepreneurial mentorship, the initiative will pave the way for sustainable economic growth and a reduction in the incidence of gender-based violence.
